Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Moss in Sunlight was adopted by her cavemates as a tiny hatchling. She was removed from her home desert and hatched in a cave with many Ice dragons. One male took pity on her and helped her to the cave where many other abandoned dragons are found. On the verge of death due to the unsuitable climate, her new cavemates helped her to the safety of their cave, where Day's Brilliance, a Day Glory Drake, took care of her. She is named after her first resting place, a patch of moss that nearly always is in the sun's sight. She soon matured into an elegant adult and continues to ejoy a good life with Day's Brilliance and his brother.
