And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Spellbound Wish had a fine life: a friendly clan of dragons, a warm cave to sleep in, and a great group of friends. But, his owner, who had eight other dragons of his kind, no alts at all, looked down upon him with disgust. Just another regular black dragon. He wasn't the alt that she longed for ever so desperately. So, using the terrible magic that brought chills down a dragon's spine, even if just mentioned, she cast a devastating spell upon the poor, young dragon. His body became unable to age, and he has felt the tingle of the Freezing Spell's cruel effects ever since that one heartless spell. He now watches as his best friends grow up around him, and the other dragons mock him of his tiny wings. Spellbound, however, is best friends with Lizard, the mint dragon, who is small, just like him.
