Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lazi Lowlight has his odd name for a reason. He, unlike the other Black Dragons in the Storm Pack, cannot perform those spectacular stunts of magic that glow fiery red, sea green, and sapphire blue, like fireworks in the sky. His, as the Black Dragons call "SparkFlyers", are an ugly, boring shade of dark, dark orange. The other dragons refuse to let Lazi take part in the festive SparkFlying shows on clear nights, and he instead uses his magic to help keep the hatchlings sitting on the behinds. He grieves his firstborn son, Spellbound Wish, who was hit with the heartless Freezing Spell, and is rumored to be plotting some form of revenge.
