Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Rakkanak uses her magic to stagger those she hunts, causing those with poor proprioception to completely lose control of their limbs. She used to follow this up by dive-bombing her target, but nowadays she usually lets her mate, Skagalicious, take care of them. She has a little bit of healing magic which she uses to keep him safe when their prey bites back, but it pales in comparison with what a white can do. He makes sure she gets her fair share of their prey despite the well-known tendencies of his kind to eat everything. When they travel, she usually rides on the massive fell's back since her physical endurance has always been terrible.
