Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Plated Dancer is not disliked as a person, but her ownership of an ass mars the opinion others have of her. She calls it Dominick the Donkey. Like its owner, it's not very bright. There are some idioms used by community members coined with Dominick in mind, the most oft-said of which is "making an ass of oneself". Additionally, Dominick is overfed, perhaps due to Dancer's belief that it loves eating as much as she does, though unlike her, it barely gets any exercise and mostly stands around. The stupid, fat beast would be easy prey for other dragons, but she is highly protective of it, and it loudly hee-haws in mockery. Dancer is laziest around Christmas, when there's little to hunt or harvest and holiday prep is done. Those days, she enjoys sitting on Dominick for hours. It's tubby and slow already, and with her atop it, it's rendered immobile. While she's an adult free to make her own choices, Dancer's family doesn't like how, every Christmas, she spends all day sitting on her ass.
