Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

BloodWayk is a very sorry dragon, banished from society as a hatchling when the island discovered she had been bitten. She now roams the island in search of a home, a friend, and a family, despite it being against Island Law to be associated with Vampires. Her only chance at companionship is to transform an egg, so every moon she slips into town and bites an egg. Now she has one dragon at her side, Hemorrhage Nightmare, after the small dragon struggled to conceal her identity and was eventually forced out. (She does not speak with Bloodwayk in anger, however) Bloodwayk now sits and hopes that she can build a coven of Vampire dragons, and live peacefully with the islanders. She knows this will take a long time, but she is ambitious, and has hopes for a future were Vampires and normal dragons coexist.
