Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Teikono is the son of Contrarii and Crescut. He is a very adventurous dragon and, like his father, is a great flyer. However, because he wasn't allowed to talk to his father and also because his mother never flew except for when she had to escape from something, Teikono didn't know that the higher into the sky he went, the chillier it got. He froze solid after going too high in the air. His father Contrarii discovered him eventually, sitting helplessly in a tall tree. Teikono started liking his father after that and thankfully was taught the proper way to talk to his father to avoid any hurt feelings. Teikono is very envious of his siblings who made it to adulthood. After a while, though, he started realizing that there were positives to being frozen. For example, adult dragons would pamper him just because he looked young, even though Teikono was older than some of them. However, Crescut raised Teikono well, so the pampering won't turn him into a prideful jerk like his father is.
