Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Roulette Russe is a strangely calm and reserved Vampire dragon. Bitten by Rael Silverfangs, one of the first hundred vampire dragons to have appeared in the regions of Galsreim, he's been a fierce and proud member of the Undead until the fateful night when, prowling near the pile of abandoned eggs of a nearby cave, he tried to turn a near dead Nocturnal egg. Preparing his attack like he did a thousand times already, he was shocked when his fangs bit nothing but an empty egg shell, as the nocturnal hatchling successfully got out of its calcium carbonate prison. Blown away by a wind of panic as the little one sent a telepathic cry for help, Roulette winged it and flew back to his cave, ashamed of his failure. It is said that, to this day, the vampire is still alone in his cave, a shadow of his former self, refusing the company of any other dragons and forbidding himself to bite any other egg until he's redeemed his soul and honored his heritage as second 'son' of a first born vampire.
