Pyralspite dragons are small, swift dragons that can breathe an intensely hot flame. They get their name from their resemblance to and affinity for garnets of the pyralspite family—they hoard such gems, preferring garnets that match their variant, and can tell the type of garnet from how it tastes. The orange variant is called Spessartine. These Pyralspites are more fun-loving and mellow than others, and are optimistic as a whole. Their preferred habitat is coastal areas.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Eating Spaghetti with a Spoon is a newcomer to Cata Sureise, but he's well-liked already. He was welcomed with open wings when the district's leader learned that in his home cave network, he was watchman. There was a dearth of good dragons for the job, and that was worsened when the commander and an officer were killed on duty, and they hadn't yet found replacements. Of the eight current members, five signed up because they wanted to use their "self-defense" skills to hit people with their sticks or paws, and they behaved in a high-strung manner. After Spaghetti joined the watch-house, citizens of Cata Sureise noticed over the next couple of months that the whole watch seemed to mellow out a bit, and denizens had fewer complaints about a watchman being inattentive or overly jumpy. Folks don't know what's going on in the watch-house, but hearsay has it that Spaghetti was largely responsible and will soon become the new deputy to the interim commander, maybe even commander himself.
