Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bedswerver sometimes teaches at the Learning Center and sometimes helps her friends at their chores and stores when they need a hand. Sometimes, her friends don't ask for help, but she senses they need it and is there to help, and she won't take "no" for an answer. She's the occasional partner of a silver dragon in one of the neighborhoods adjacent to the Learning Center, though usually, she's off with some other dragon whom she's interested in at the time. None of her various escapades has resulted in children, which is lucky for her since she doesn't like being tied down with hatchling-rearing responsibilities.
