Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Permanently scarred as a hatchling by seeing her friend Tsubasa get murdered, Kumo has developed two personas. One, where she is known as Kumo Ranna is on the Warriors of Dark side and one of the bravest warriors seen. The second, known as Yami Kumo, is a warrior of Light and much more deadly than the real Kumo Ranna. Zourah, her mother was nearly killed by Yami Ranna during the war of the Mountain.

Kumo has issues controlling herself and tries to find sanctuary by becoming a shaman. She was rejected and forever cursed.

Kumo is usually found lying on her cloud, trying to control Yami Ranna and often sleeps due to this. Whenever the two suns shine at once, Kumo wakes up and loses control of Yami for a while. Many cautions have been taken to control her though.

The fire dragon Ayakashi finds Kumo very charming and courted her during the fall months, when its often dark during the day. Kumo can never understand the males' thinking. But is having feelings as well, but it can't ever be.
