Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While she doesn't share her father's dislike of the cold (quite the opposite, in fact), Rime does share something most keenly in common with him: an intense dislike of vampires. Well, MOST vampires, at any rate. Like her sire, Rime learned quickly (and somewhat reluctantly) that "see vampire, stake vampire" was an unfair hunting method, for not all of the undead were cruel and willing to kill. Accordingly, she directs her efforts not at vampires in general, but at those who choose to feed from sentient beings to a point that kills them. For these monsters Rime has no pity, a fact shown in her method of execution; spurning the stake, she freezes the butchers before shattering them into countless thousands of pieces, utterly destroying their hearts--and thus their black lives--in the process.
