Pyrovar Dragons live at high altitudes in areas with lots of volcanic activity. They are commonly associated with geysers and hot springs and enjoy soaking in the scalding water. Females bury their eggs in these areas warmed by geothermal energy and abandon them soon after. As a result, these dragons are territorial and solitary from a young age. Despite their affinity with water they have powerful flame breath and fire magic. They are entirely carnivorous and utilize a variety of hunting styles, from chasing down prey from the air to lying in wait beneath the water’s surface to ambush any unwitting creatures that wander by.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hypercarnivore is living by himself in the Lima Bean Hothills, and as a pyrovar, that suits him just fine. He delivered an order to one of his old colleagues, who took what he said literally, and before he knew it, there were a number of dead bodies, and he was hauled into court. They were going to execute him, but a loose water globe conjured by the kids playing outside rolled in and distracted everybody enough to allow Hypercarnivore to chew through his bonds and escape. It seems nobody knows he's now hiding out in the Hothills, and the area is dangerous with cliffs, areas with strong background magic, and various creatures created in the local lab, so few dragons would want to venture here, anyway. The one thing Hypercarnivore misses from his hometown is the Coh-Wah Bakery, which has really tasty pork buns and blintzes.
