Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In many other places Balar, being the Clan Leaders firstborn, would have been treated as royalty, but in the Durelen Clan, his parentage brought him no advantages and he had to earn whatever he desired, just like everyone else. This made him quite levelheaded and modest, thinking of his fellow dragons as friends rather than subjects, there only to serve his whims. Balar spent his whole life in safety of his clan and has never shown any desire to leave, most probably because of his longstanding crush on Arien, who at first took no notice of his advances, but warmed up to him in the end, becoming his most trusted friend and companion. Very popular among other dragons, he is one of the main contenders to become the next Clan Leader and follow the footsteps of his parents. Surprisingly, him and Thalion, who also desires this position, are good friends and often spend many hours planning ways to increase the prosperity of their clan.
