Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hides in dark spaces and lunges at anything that gets too close. Small piles of bones are accumulating outside of its “lairs”...

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kipik is named after the only word he says in some dragons' minds. In others mind's however, Kipik only says his name. Nobody is exactly sure which one came first, and while there is intense debate about which one it is, most have dismissed it as a pointless and irrelevant discussion, compared to more important things such as how long it is until their lunch break. As Kipik is capable of understanding any commands given to him and is physically fine, it was decided that he was in good enough shape to work, and assigned as a forager, specializing in berries. Kipik's slim frame means he can slip in and out of thorny berry bushes with ease, allowing him to gather the juicy fruits which lie just inside. While Kipik's choice of vocabulary may be limited, it is relatively to understand him via his tone of voice and gestures; from hopping up and down erratically while happy to lowering his head when he is disappointed or sad.
