Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

BronzeNeptuneLyn is a Bronze Tinsel Dragon. He is highly prized by his owner, because he is of a rare breed. But all this attention and perceived value hasn't gone to his head. BronzeNeptuneLyn likes to spend his time exploring, which worries his owner a lot. He always comes back safe. But his owner wants him to be a stud and produce some Bronze offspring. BronzeNeptuneLyn doesn't want to be a father, or to be a piece of meat—only useful for mating. He doesn't want to just have child after child and watch them all be sold away. BronzeNeptuneLyn wishes he could just run away, but he only goes out exploring after a mating. He understands that his species is rare and the population needs to expand to help the breed can become more common, as they now live only in certain sanctuaries, rescues, and breeding farms. So BronzeNeptuneLyn's offspring need to get out there and breed for the species. This makes him sad, but BronzeNeptuneLyn knows this is his lot in life.
