Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lepidolithum HopeWing (after the gemstone: Lepidolite) brought an immense spark to the clan as its 45th member. He spends very little time within the clan cave, preferring instead to glide through the sky in wide, flowing arcs. The clan elders were especially heartened at his adoption into the clan, and so, he received a great many visitors, as an eggling and hatchling alike. The honored Elder Magi, Clinohumitian, has incorporated his arrival into the clan lore that is passed down from one generation to the next as a great omen of health and prosperity for all the clan dragons. Although his appearances are few and far between, his presence as a clan member is strong and never forgotten. Sadly, little is known about his personality, likes and dislikes, due in no small part to his lengthy absences. The Clan Mother, however, desperately wishes to rectify that situation and regularly calls his name into the far reaching winds, hoping to be heard and heeded.
