Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yonggan has many reputations. Many dragons see him as a cocky, self-centered, and narcissistic fool.

Others see him as a brave, strong, and romantic dragon.

His ways with magic do tend to get to his head, but he is very cunning and willing to protect his mates and territory from anyone who poses a threat, whether that be humans or other creatures.

He is usually merciful enough to end his battles with the other still alive but isn't afraid to rid of stubborn trespassers. He has gone through many near-death experiences and has had to drive out entire villages or towns because they were crawling with greedy hunters, who were out for his mysterious scales or dragon keepers, who tried to capture him to harness his magic control. So far, no one has been successful.
