It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Her name means "Bright Beauty" in Japanese, since she is so beautiful. She's one of the many daughters of Kentaro and Kiyomi. She is a very calm, loving, and forgiving dragon. She mated Akihiko after he proved that he would grow up, and calm his ways for her. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, which is basically all the female dragons in the clan. She loves her family more than anything, and just loves to have little hatchlings running around her cave. Akihiko has proven to be a wonderful mate, and a wonderful father, he just needed some polishing. Akemi was just the dragon to do that polishing. Her patience with him helped mold him into the fantastic head of a family that he is now. They complete each other so perfectly. They are soul mates, and look forward to being together forever.
