Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One can run, but one can't hide. But Fatio can. In the moments of a blink he can vanish in plain sight, camouflaged so perfectly in the surrounding area that not even a nebula's trained eye could pick him out. Nobody can tell how he does it, but many blame it on his limited attention span, which lead him to wander off into the unknown. At first it was funny ,almost a joke, but as time went on, his disappearances became more erratic and his hidden periods longer, and the worry of his carers increased proportionally. As he slowly grew up he became less dependent on his inability to flee quickly, and started improving his poise and imitation, until he looked as much like a gnarled tree as a mighty black dragon. Carrying an assortment of smearing plants and staining berries, Fatio speed paints himself so he can hide in a clear sky or on a snowy plain. Many dragons wish to learn this skill from him, but they'll have to find him first.
