Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Chronos are often considered to be the most elusive of all Xenowyrm subspecies: they live in the darkest and densest forests, far from civilization. They are masters of time magic, allowing them to manipulate the flow of time at will. It is said that Chrono lairs are protected by a field of magic that makes the minutes tick by at a slow pace for any unwanted visitors.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Timey Boy tries to keep to herself and asks little of others. She goes to parties if invited but stays away from the action. Many dragons and humans think that because she's an old breed and is magically skilled, she must be smart and able to problem solve. That isn't true, and she's embarrassed by the number of inexplicable events that shouldn't be inexplicable. For instance, the other day, Timey Boy woke up beside a grave that definitely wasn't in that space yesterday, with no evidence anyone entered her lair. A grave as in a spot where a body is interred, not a grave dragon. Though she's woken up beside a grave dragon before, too. Anyway, she didn't want to disturb the grave before she could figure out its origin, but nobody acted like anything was different, and she didn't want to bug people. Days later, she awoke and saw that the grave was gone. The ground was smooth like it had never been disturbed. Timey Boy is wondering if she should start compiling a list of odd occurrences.
