Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Polychromos has keen eyes, sharp ears, and the aspiration to share the beauty of all the creatures she comes across in her travels. She has always struggled with words, however, and while she mastered the art of magically recording sights and sounds she cannot explain what the replayed experiences are about. Falling into a melismor's tunnel brought her to the (at the time) young David Attenburrow, who shared her love of animals. After sorting through Polychromos's jumbled story, he decided to help narrate the visuals she captured. Sometimes he travels with her, other times she simply brings recordings back to his tunnel, but with funding from the Blusang Broadcasting Coalition (BBC), the two have made numerous feature-length and episodic series. Polychromos does not travel as much as she used to, but she is happy to wander vicariously through the recordings as she assembles them into pieces the BBC can distribute.
