Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

JVabs is a wannabe member of the club of tabs. Club members tell him his ID is a little bit wrong, but it can't be corrected because it represents a part of a being that cannot change. They also question why he wants to join this club because it's not that great, and they ask if he even knows what occurs there. They also ask him to stop hassling Dorsal Officer 2, which he does because he figured a club member of the same breed would vouch for him. JVabs doesn't know any club activities and probably should stop petitioning for membership, but ever since a ruby-eyed transient told him he could join if he tried hard, he continues to believe in the possibility.
