Sawtooth Dragons are stealthy hunters that have mastered the element of surprise to attack prey from both above and below. They are born and reside deep in the jungle, stalking swamps and hunting anything that moves until their wings are large enough to sustain them in flight, after which they leap into the air to soar through the treetops and dive at their unsuspecting victims. The Sawtooths’ long jaws are almost unrivaled in strength, with serrated teeth and a bite so powerful they can crush even large mammals—their primary food source.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like their close relatives the gharials, sawtooth dragons' jaws are incredibly fragile without the aid of magic. JUgRe is a prime example of this, the front half of his upper jaw broken off, rendering him unable to hunt after attempting to take on an unsuspecting cassare. He now resides in Nworset's Love Song district, begging on the streets for spare change or a meal. Some have told him he should clean himself up and get a job. Some have even suggested he go to the Open Medical University to see if they will treat his injury, either regenerating the lost bone or providing a prosthesis designed to be receptive to his innate strengthening magic. He refuses, insisting without evidence that there is nothing any medical professional can do. It appears he only wants free stuff, not actual help. Recently, someone has been posting signs near his favourite haunts that say, "don't feed the pan-handlers!" JUgRe finds these horribly offensive and tears them down, but they keep reappearing.
