Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tiana inherited the beauty of both her parents but none of the spoiled behavior. She is a dragon determined to make a difference. Her passionate, caring personality has made her many friends and the champion of commons everywhere. Her parents were arguing about who should sit on the nest, and her egg fell out without either of them noticing. With her gorgeous egg immediately snatched up by an passing sorceress when she saw it, she grew up being lavished with extra love for her shining appearance. Seeing the more common breeds being cared for less, she vowed to prove herself for more than her scales, trained until she was skilled in a variety of things, and now fights against evil and color-breed discrimination. She travels from village to village, disguising herself as a common breed and doing good deeds. She only reveals her true breed after being thanked, and then delivers her message to the people- judge a dragon not by the color of their scales, but the content of their character!
