This breed of dragon results from eggs or hatchlings that have been neglected. They are usually rebellious, not obeying their masters, sometimes even attacking them. However, their neglect as a hatchling leaves them crippled, and they are weak compared to other breeds, causing them to stay with their masters for protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gogmazios is a recognisable dragon, if mostly thanks to his pet Pekin Bantam, 'Pecan', his characteristic gait and the unusual movements that plague his left side. He suffers from hemiparesis as a result of a brain infection he had in his childhood.

A lengthy leash tied around Gogmazios' left forearm holds Pecan, and the connection the two have is extraordinary. As a young dragon just recovered from the infection, Gogmazios saw Pecan on sale but was unable to make the trade; taking pity on him, the dealer gave him the bird. They are never seen without the other and Pecan provides Gogmazios with companionship, a valuable asset to a dragon who was forced to eventually, unwillingly, leave his adoptive parent following a series of troubles.

Gogmazios is a wanderer, never staying in one place long and always looking for the next. There are those who doubt his capabilities, but Gogmazios finds joy in overcoming his disability and has no plans to stop in the foreseeable future.
