Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There is an island that is part of the South Sisters chain, that is far east of the others. The dragons that live on it weave a magical hurricane and have for many centuries, so that the outside world knows of it only as the Eye of the Storm.

Yaoe leads these dracons, and is the oldest among them who is still alive. She was once part of a war between humans and dragons, but is the only survivor from her platoon.

Yaoe claims to dream of the lost gods' clouds, and see in them past and future. She also tells of a half-lost prophecy, she saw in the clouds of her childhood. It says that four heroes will arise, three from elemental clans, to pull the ancient gods from their cycle of death and life to truly live. Origins of the fourth hero remain unknown.

Yaoe believes her followers are the Clan of Storme. The other clans are flame and frost.
