Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wisher is an athletic Swallowtail that lives in a group of male and female Swallowtails. While he did get some insults from the guard, a female Swallowtail came to his rescue. She was respected in the group because of her lineage, so the guard allowed Wisher to join. The male dragon was very grateful for her help, since he had a rough life ever since he went out on his own. The female, named Dove, said that he didn't need to thank her and that she would love to be his friend.

He accepted, and soon enough their friendship became a relationship. Wisher loves Dove with all of his heart, and he loves that they can treat each other as friends. He enjoys talking to her and doesn't keep any secrets from her, no matter what.

His mate knows how he feels about the rejected dragons outside of the group. Wisher feels that he knows how they feel and is glad that his path took a different turn. He sometimes wishes that he could get them into the group, but knows that it is impossible.
