Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Intended as a special gift to a neighboring Weyr, the egg hatched while waiting for placement.  Remaining in the Hatchling School, he became so attached to his classmates and increasingly anxious as he waited for the Teleport to his new home.  As the time to leave approached, he and a couple of friends tried all the spells they could think of that might speed his growth or somehow release him from the Teleport.  He could feel the Teleport hold tightening as time ran against him.  Suddenly, he felt himself freed, like tense bands holding him all snapped simultaneously.  They had done it!  He was physically an adult and had beaten the Teleport spell. He rejoiced with his dear friends, but, as mental maturity caught up with the physical, he realized how selfish he had been, and an opportunity to learn, share, and grow had truly been lost forever.
