Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Guilin, Song of Awakening, a song played and sung by the high elves when the dawn has broken, a song the little black was named for. She is the first born of Aegdae and Feinrian, and considered, in the Digi Clan of dragons, to be the little Princess of the Shadows.

No one has survived harming or taunting the little black dragonett, for she has nearly the entire cave wrapped snugly around her little claws. She excels at blackmail and manipulation, though no one believes that she is really that cunning and ambitious. Guilin looks to one day living up to her unofficial title as the Princess of the Shadows.

Her best friend and 'mate' is Ilbareth, a white dragon found abandoned outside their cave, though she is much older than the white. Guilin was frozen in her current form by the Clan's Guardian in an attempt to alleviate the need for an adult dragon to watch the cave and eggs at all times.
