Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Obsiderum FirstCrust (after the gemstone: Obsidian) was adopted into the clan cave as its 142nd member, brought by The Clan Mother from a distant clan in return for the promise of future kindness and friendship. The clan elders had high hopes for his eventual contribution into the clan cave, and although he does participate in the betterment of dragon kind, some view him as a rather lazy and somewhat aloof dragon. He spends most of his time wrapped in the molten embrace of the lava fields beneath the clan cave, only rarely venturing from their steamy walls in search of food or to stretch his legs. The Clan Mother believes his distance a result of his youthfulness in comparison to the strong presence of his female counterparts, and that one day he will stand up to take his rightful place. Perhaps the day will come when he will find himself faced with a suitable mate, awakening his spirit, causing the metaphorical encrusted magma to drop from his scales as he enters into fatherhood.
