Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Topazeth Mystal DawnRise (Clan Mystal) was born into the clan cave as its 166th dragon, the first offspring of an amazing and love struck story. Prior to his birth, it was commonly accepted among the clan dragons that his father, Topazrius, pined after another whose affections were not reciprocated. One day, shortly after reaching adulthood, his mother approached with wings spread wide, and offered his father a single red rose. Struck by her kindness, he instantly realized the folly in his previous ways, and saw true love in her eyes. The pair silently snuck off together, and soon thereafter, with the rising dawn, Topazeth was born. He is a kind, gentle yet energetic dragon who revels in the romance shared by his parents. There can be no doubt that he is the apple of his fathers eye, and as such, he enjoys spending time at his side. As of yet, he has shown little interest in the ritual of courtship for himself, content in the belief that, like his parents, true love cannot be planned!
