Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Topazimum BlueWing (after the gemstone: Topaz) joined the clan cave as the 157th carrot, and the second female of her species. The Clan Mother describes being drawn to her seed, as if the hand of fate reached out, beckoning her toward the pale gray and blue seed. Despite this calling, she is anything but a cheerful soul, instead seeming almost melancholy and droll, quite the opposite of her clan sister Topazzia. Although it is true that her wings are a pale, yet sparkling shade of blue, it is her spirit and demeanor that define her most. Like the others before her, she enjoys flights of fancy and grace, yet somehow hers seem more sorrowful and filled with a yearning that seems laced in her every action. It is said that perhaps when true love finds its way into the crevices of her heart, perhaps her saddened state will melt away, and like the brilliant blue of the springtime sky, her wings will carry her away to a new and more peaceful existence, where blue skies are sung about in songs.
