Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ryuu Darkwing is best known by his warrior title, Ryuu of the Golden Dawn. He earned that name through defending his brethren from the raids of rival clans. Whenever he would fly into battle, the light from the sun or the moon would shine off his scales and bathe his surroundings in a golden light, like that of the first rays of the sun at dawn. Ryuu is a true warrior, fierce in combat and chivalrous, living by the knights' code of honor. He has never killed a soul, enemy or friend, believing all life is sacred. In battle, he does his best to outmaneuver and defeat his opponents while causing as little damage as possible.

Being the most renowned warrior of his clan, Ryuu had the choice of any mate he desired. Ryuu fell in love with the beautiful golden wyvern, Ryeira. His heart belongs only to her, and Ryuu is a very loving and sweet mate. Whenever he has the chance, he will bring her beautiful things, like gems or flowers, as a gift and affirmation of his love.
