Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hekate specializes in transition magic—the magic that aids or uses the power of movement from one state to another, from life to death, from womb to birth, from night to day, from new moon to full. This sort of magic requires intense concentration and very careful timing, which perfectly suits Hekate's quiet, serious patience and focused intensity. She is not an easy dragon to get to know, but once she is fond of a dragon or human, she is a loyal friend for life. She studied under Llew Llaw Gyffes, who taught her how to find just the right place and time to apply just the right amount of magical pressure—a vital skill in transition magic. While she is lovely by draconic standards, and attracts much male interest during breeding season, she is only somewhat interested, preferring to save most of her attention for her work.
