Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ryoushi was a slight disappointment to his mother, who was secretly hoping that her first born would be a gold like herself. Knowing that he would never be able to please her in appearance, Ryoushi joined the ranks of the warrior dragons, hoping that a success in battle would make her proud.

However, apart from minor scuffles with neighbouring clans, there has been little conflict that Ryoushi has been able to take part in. As the clan leader prefers peace and treaties to war and aggression, most problems are solved without bloodshed. This leaves Ryoushi no way in which to prove his valour.
