Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s always proudly preening its patches of colorful scales.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This wyrmling is always a bit slow. Whenever there is an event, he tries to get there on time, but it's hard to make it across a volcanic waste as a wingless little kid. He has a particularly severe case of Peter Pan Syndrome, a hereditary condition that prevents maturing—though usually, it only becomes apparent after the wings have grown in. His parents named him Hexts, but his friends call him 'Minute', bullies call him 'Late', and his little brother (who did not develop PPS and is therefore fully-grown) calls him 'OMTL'. He sometimes gets annoyed at others treating him like a wyrmling, especially when they baby-talk him, but he puts up with it because, being unable to hunt, he needs the help. He likes to show off his knowledge of history.
