Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emerallis is part of the Clan of Storme. He aspires to Yaoe's magical prowess, but despises her visions and prophetic warnings. He thinks they are all lies, and thinks she is crazy. He never shares these thoughts in her hearing, nor in that any who may become suspicious of him if they knew. He once spent long times staring at clouds to try and see visions in them, but never saw anything of the sort.

Emerallis once declared that if the heroes that Yaoe spoke of appeared, he would personally challenge them; and if he won he would declare dominance over his clan. There is a rumor that he also declared he would do horrible things to the corpse, but he refuses any claim of such words.
