Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Unwanted Fool's Gold is depressed. He admires his gleaming scales, but he wishes he was a gold dragon. He watches how people scramble for Gold Dragons, but not for tinsels. Other dragons in the clan, though, would do anything to be him. Whenever he sheds his scales, dragons are scurrying after him as scales fall off. He does not acknowledge this, as he is deep in thought or depression.
