Equinox Dragons are a highly vocal, migratory breed, easy to find when they are traveling through an area and incredibly scarce otherwise. They are extremely skilled at following dates and times based off the movement of the sun and the moons, and follow their lengthy migration routes like clockwork. Large flocks of Equinoxes can darken the skies, and their calls, which sound like eerie flutes, can be heard from a great distance. Equinoxes are very social, and hatchlings are cared for communally by the entire group—it’s rare to see a solitary Equinox, and any stragglers who don’t have a flock will often attempt to join groups of other breeds of dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stannis likes routine and familiar things. When large changes occur, usually through decisions by group members, she grows quiet and sullen and engages in compulsive acts of destruction such as breaking sticks off trees and pulling flowers out by their roots. When the group took a different route for their fall flight, she was so upset that she left to take the usual path and was nearly killed in a storm. Stannis is very decisive and confident, though many of her actions are poorly thought out. When she stands lookout at the west post, she relays every detail of the environment, talking constantly, and she shrieks in excitement when she spots an unfamiliar being approaching.
