Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

He was the second dragon to end up in this cavern matrix. He was left there and cared for as an egg in these caverns, and took for himself the name of Myste. Through his forceful yet caring nature, he endeavoured to assist in the rearing of most of the young dragons to come into these caves, eventually earning the stony matrix his surname, Myste Caverns. While his motives could easily be construed as altruistic, he felt they were not. All his life he had only truly cared for one other, the dragonling who was alone in the caves before he hatched. All his actions for the betterment of dragonkind, or at least his corner of it, were in an attempt to feel such strong emotion for something that would notice, that would see him, feel him, something that could care, rather than the cold one he knew could never love him back.
