Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very protective of other hatchlings.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Aside from the occasional excited outburst that causes everyone to take cover, Plasmaball is gentle and laid-back. She's willing to try any food or anything food-like placed in front of her. She can be easily convinced an inedible item is edible and has eaten a great number of things that are definitely not food. She discovers a lot of great eats but also gets poisoned and goes nuts almost as often. When bored, Plasmaball prefers to busy herself with her own thoughts, some of which turn into ideas for inventions. Most of her odd little devices and potions end up in a volatile pile in her cavern. Other dragons don't know what to make of them, but all agree they're better in a dank cave than outside where something might combust or come alive.
