Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gloss is the daughter of Festivia, one of the original Ribbon Dancers in SL's cave. Like her mother she is very high-spirited, and she loves the holidays as much as everyone else.

Unlike some of the other hatchlings in the cave, Festivia raised Gloss carefully, cautious not to shower her with so much attention as to turn her into a brat, but also enough to make her feel loved and welcomed. She allowed Gloss some space and lo and behold, she turned out just fine.

Since Gloss is the daughter of Festivia, she often gets mean jives from Gossamer. She isn't as immune to the remarks as her mother, even though she tries her hardest to ignore them. Even Gossamer's children, whom she adopted, tease Gloss, but Gloss decides that they're just bored and trying to get on their nasty mother's good side by acting like her.

Not many dragons come to her defense but her mother and Jubilee, Gloss's best friend. The two are always there for each other, whether they like it or not.
