Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As Meirin's third son and forth child, not much was expected of Little Saburo. His older two magma siblings had already made names for themselves and his striped older brother departed for another clan. This left Saburo with little left to do.

That is until he discovered the diamond mine hidden beneath the lava fields.

The lava fields had originally belonged to a rival clan, but Saburo's family defeated them. Their land were spoils of war and it was enchanted to provide a suitable home for magma dragons. With Saburo's unearthing of the diamonds, he secured his family a constant supply of the gems and name for himself amongst his peers.
