Equinox Dragons are a highly vocal, migratory breed, easy to find when they are traveling through an area and incredibly scarce otherwise. They are extremely skilled at following dates and times based off the movement of the sun and the moons, and follow their lengthy migration routes like clockwork. Large flocks of Equinoxes can darken the skies, and their calls, which sound like eerie flutes, can be heard from a great distance. Equinoxes are very social, and hatchlings are cared for communally by the entire group—it’s rare to see a solitary Equinox, and any stragglers who don’t have a flock will often attempt to join groups of other breeds of dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Coming from two very social parents, Surya is every bit a party animal as they are. He is extremely friendly, though also nosey, loud, and often ignorant. He is not the most intelligent dragon around, and that shows in his gullibility. Surya tends to trust others way too easily. He has no real sense of boundaries and will approach random strangers out of nowhere. Because of these issues, he is typically followed around and protected by his more aloof family members. However, Surya wanders around so much, he gets easily misplaced and very often into some sort of mishap. Surya is usually none the wiser, though. He lives in blissful ignorance of his own, well, ignorance. He has a hatchling-like charm to him and, in truth, is very generous and kind. Though gullible, he still offers such immense kindness to everyone around him, even if they may seem suspicious or intimidating. He just can't fathom the idea that anyone would want to hurt or take advantage of him. Even then, he is nice.
