Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s already quite large compared to other hatchlings, and appears to like roughhousing.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Brute Beaut is a relatively small adolescent always "lookin' fer a tussle". While the boys mostly bash each other with their horns, she's learned to evade and tire opponents and take them down. Occasionally, she'll fight the "traditional" way, but it hurts. Because of her method of combat, she's actually soft-hearted and looks down on the kind of dragons who would be happy to kill for a mate's favor.
