Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Wannabe Spyro is yet another dragon who claims he is the legendary dragon Spyro, but is definitely not. It has been so many centuries since the Real Spyro's time, if he was still around he would surely be grown by now, but Wannabe still insists that no, he is the real Spyro and simply suffers from Peter Pan Syndrome, which has permanently stunted his growth. The other dragons in Nworset City disliked him—most made a point of calling him 'Wannabe'—so he left, following a rumour. Wiren had accidentally implied that Cvunhu had a crazy sister who had fled the city many decades before and gone northwest, towards the edge of the world. Wannabe left to seek her, perhaps finding her, but more likely he just got lost in the frozen woods. Perhaps he's still alive, perhaps he got eaten—no respectable dragon has been inclined to check.
