It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Exculpatory is the pretend owner of a bar. She has never formally declared herself to be the owner to the employees or patrons because she doesn't want anyone to get angry or something. Patrons think she is a regular who doesn't actually drink, just likes the pub for some reason, and seems rather concerned about keeping the place tidy. The bartenders, bouncer, and musicians thought this, too, until one day, a dragon (theorized to either be her father or a suitor) came in and watched with interest while Exculpatory gestured, walked around showing him things, and talked in a language they didn't understand. Then she told the workers, via telepathy, to please act like she's their boss. They would have resisted had she not been so nice and said "please". Everyone's still willing to humor her whenever she brings a guest, but they've made it clear that any drinks she gives to her guest goes on her tab, which like any other patron she must pay, and she's limited to one guest visit a month.
