Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Hessonyth Thuwed FallBringer (after the gemstone: Hessonite Garnet) joined the clan as its fourteenth member, its first true miracle. Details are sketchy, but The Clan Mother says that while traveling through the forest on a crisp autumn day, she came upon a mother dragon whose scales were a rich brown with bright yellow trimmings. The dragon pushed Hessonyth's cold, weather worn egg toward her and bid her to take in her dying youngling, pleading to save the 7th generation offspring of a pure and noble bloodline. The Clan Mother accepted and tended the near death eggling. Hessonyth emerged but a few hours later, cold and hardly breathing. Opaliestrus showered him with her gifts of wellness, and soon his condition began to improve. None of the clan elders can fathom why his mother abandoned him so, nor what would lead her to forsake such a precious dragon. Hessonyth spends much of his time combing the forests in search of answers, yet he cherishes his place within his adoptive clan.
