Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to perch on the high branches of the taller trees and look longingly up at the sky.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Crouch is an avid insectivore, spending most of her days leaping upon her unsuspecting prey. She eats most herself and hides the rest away from prying eyes save a few that she presents as gifts to her parents and owner. She hates the taste of the wings, so instead keeps them as a kind of trophy to her accomplishments. Her most precious prize being a monster of a dragonfly, with wings almost as large as her own.  Though she is a bit of a recluse, she does savor the time she spends wrestling with the other DT hatchlings and enjoys playing pranks on the older clan members.
